PARTIAL COD
1. Objective of Implementation
DHUREE intends to introduce a ‘Partial COD & Secure Pay at Delivery’ system where customers pay 10% of the order value upfront as a confirmation fee, and the remaining 90% at the time of delivery. This model is designed to filter non-serious orders, reduce delivery refusals, and improve operational efficiency.
2. Checkout Flow Requirements
The checkout page must display two payment options:
Option 1: Full Prepaid – Customers paying 100% upfront for the order, priority processing, and eligibility for faster exchanges.
Option 2: Secure Pay at Delivery / Partial COD – Customers must pay 10% of the total order value upfront to confirm the order and the remaining 90% will be collected as Cash on Delivery.
3. Backend Calculation Logic
The system must calculate the payment split as follows:
Partial Payment = Subtotal × 10%
Remaining COD = Subtotal × 90%
Both values must be rounded appropriately to the nearest rupee. The order confirmation page and invoice must clearly display:
- Total Order Value
- Amount Paid (10%)
- Balance Payable at Delivery (90%)
4. Order Tagging & Automation
Upon successful 10% payment, M/s Dhuree will tag the order as ‘PARTIAL_10_PAID’. Orders paid fully will be tagged as ‘FULL_PREPAID’. In case of delivery refusal, orders will be tagged as ‘RTO_PARTIAL’. These tags will trigger appropriate courier handling and WhatsApp notification for workflows.
5. Pincode Validation & OTP Verification
The Secure Pay at Delivery / Partial COD option are only for eligible pincodes. A backend system must maintain a list of blocked or high-risk pincodes. Additionally, OTP verification must be mandatory before allowing 10% payment to prevent fraudulent orders.
6. Refund & Cancellation Policy Logic
If a customer cancels before dispatch, the 10% amount may be refunded after deducting payment gateway fees. If a customer refuses delivery without valid reason, the 10% confirmation fee will be retained to cover logistics expenses. All refunds must require manual administrative approval.
7. Reporting & Dashboard Requirements
The admin dashboard must provide weekly reports including:
- Total Orders
- Percentage of Full Prepaid Orders
- Percentage of Partial COD Orders
- Partial COD RTO Rate
- Top 20 High-Risk Pincodes
- Repeat RTO Customers
Data must be exportable in Excel format.
8. Risk Control Rules
Secure Pay at Delivery must not be available for orders exceeding ₹15,000. Customers with two or more prior RTO instances must be restricted from using this payment method. A blacklist system must be implemented to prevent repeated misuse.
